MODEL CSCLC 5C: STRUCTURAL COMPOSITE LUMBER CORE
An all purpose door of five ply construction. Hardwood veneers are permanently bonded to crossband, wood slab, and frame. The core consists of Structural Composite Lumber that utilizes wood strands from a variety of tree species providing an alternative to dimension lumber. The material is engineered for strength and stability. While not really “lumber” it is marketed as a lumber substitute, to be used primarily in place of stave lumber core materials. SCL is tested under a number of ASTM and other test criteria. The precision surface core provides a smooth stratum for the hardwood doorskins.
Premium Grade conforming to or exceeding WDMA Industry Standard I.S. 1-A and Architectural Woodwork Institute Standards for type SCL or FD 1/3, as tested per A.S.T.M. E-152 “Fire Test of Door Assemblies” performed by Warnock Hersey International.
